Treatment Wetland Systems for Mining Operations and Closure 

Offered Oct 21-23 prior to the tailings and mine waste conference, at the same venue.

This course focuses on the design, implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of treatment wetland systems for water impacted by mining operations and closure scenarios.  Treatment of multiple constituents of concern, including ammonia, acidity, nitrate, sulphate, metals and metalloids will be covered, with a special section on selenium.

This 3-day course covers: Introduction of scientific fundamentals of treatment wetlands; Process-driven design and pilot-scale testing; Operation and maintenance; Case studies analysis; Design problem sessions; Special session on other passive and semi-passive treatment technologies.  The course content and objectives will be tailored to attendees based on a pre-course questionnaire.  Breakfast, snacks, and lunch are provided with registration.
